Can I be a member of the British National Party (BNP) or similar organisation? |
The police service has a policy of prohibiting any of their officers or police staff from becoming members of the British National Party (BNP) or similar organisation whose aims, objectives or pronouncements may contradict the duty to promote race equality. If you are, or have been a member of the BNP or similar organisation your application may be rejected. |

What shift patterns do you operate? |
The normal working week is 40 hours on a shift basis. Staffordshire Police officers work a corporate shift pattern of two day shifts, two late shifts and two night shifts.
These would be followed by four rest days before the system starts again. Shift patterns may vary dependent on operational needs of individual units.

Is my current annual leave entitlement protected? |
Any current or previous service is recognised for annual leave purposes. You will receive a pro-rata leave entitlement upon transfer if you are successful through the recruitment process. However, you will be required to take all of your current entitlement in your current force as it will not be possible to transfer outstanding leave not taken. |

Where will I be able to live? |
You will be able to live where you wish as long as you are able to commute to and from work without causing detriment to yourself or your work. |

What will my salary be and when will I be paid? |
Your pay will be in accordance with the national rates for your rank and service. Salaries are paid directly into your bank or building society account on a monthly basis.

How long will my transfer application take? |
The process can take between three and six months. This is dependent on the availability of a suitable posting, medical issues and details being received from your current force. |
